Progressive Businesses

Inspiration for this blog post is from article: https://aeon.co/ideas/when-faced-with-so-called-progressive-business-stay-skeptical This article touched on how we need a "moral economy" version of capitalism that isn't just about maximum profits but rather about bettering society and acting as a public service route. Also, it mentions how progressive businesses are essential, but they cannot replace progressive governments. I think companies should be held to some standard of accountability with their operations. This is not saying every business should strive to be a Certified B Corporation, but the world would be a better place if organizations were limited to how much waste they produced, for example. They would be held to a higher standard by the government, and therefore, to remain operating, they would have to fit specific measures regarding their social and environmental impact.
